Web content is no longer consumed only by reading. More and more users want to listen to articles, instructions, news and service content, for example during their commute, while cooking, or when looking at a screen is difficult.
A listening feature means the ability to hear the text content of a web page read aloud. It can improve both accessibility and the overall user experience. However, it is important to remember that a listening feature alone does not make a website accessible. It is a good addition, but alongside it, a clear structure, keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility and understandable content are still needed.
